surrender to strangeness
bought buck 65's secret house against the world today (yes, at hmv...) i love him.
today is jake's birthday. i made him banana waffles with peaches and maple syrup for breakfast. he was in a great mood. he's actually been in a great mood since we gave him a gameboy on monday. sweet, considerate, cheerful. model citizen. pod person.
after breakfast, i took sam over to ian's house. we were going to take the bus, but it was nice out, and sam had his scooter, so we just went on foot. we were late, and the babysitter was a bit distressed, but oh well.
i walked by a place on henry st that is for rent. i wasn't that impressed. i stopped at dal to get ell's diploma for her. i was gonna get my student id, but then i stopped in the bathroom to rinse my wrists with cold water. there was a mirror in there and i had a look at myself. yikes! it was the first time i had looked in a mirror that day. i am all for looking natural in my photo id, but i have limits, so i'll get my id another day.
then i went down to the library and got my books. (yup, i stopped at hmv.) i got on the bus with my bag o' books and headed to the grocery store for some birthday supper ingredients, then walked home.
hot, sweaty, tired. i made us some milkshakes in claire's blender (i'm going to give it back soon) with raina's ice cream. we drank them for lunch, and i felt much better.
jake's birthday supper will be homemade pizza and lemon meringue pie. yum.
