listening to ray charles from a mix i made for ryah, before she left for b.c. it is hot and humid despite the huge thunder storm last night.

owen is here for the day. i was packing all morning but now i'm out of boxes so i think we'll have some lunch and then go down to the buskers for a little while. steve and andrea are leaving on monday. they are good people. i hope they come back again next summer. caroline said she'd drop off some more boxes today. that will be awesome! i love packing. i am a freak.

there a few social things i'm looking forward to in the next week or so. family beach day's on saturday. cuff the duke's on saturday night. best of all, there's another poko ball game on sunday! i was so sad to miss the last one when sam was sick - it's good to get another chance! anna's arriving midweek, and i hope we get a chance to hang out and eat pie (i suspect her trip will be whirlwindish). next weekend is aimee's suprise wedding shower/bachlorette. lingerie, liquor, mexican food and the silva. whew. i think it'll be fun, if i don't go overboard...

i've been frustrated lately by my rudimentary understanding of the tarot, so i've started an online course for tarot reading. it seems to be pretty thorough and i find it to be both meditative and fun. i'm only on lesson three - i find it hard to absorb too much at once. if i fuck up law school, maybe i can have a fall-back career in the mystical arts?
